The Furnace Kings are an elite faction of Ogor smiths. Originally hailing from Chamon, the Furnace Kings are the servants of the Suneater; harnessing his gift of fire in order to forge mighty weapons and warmachines in the name of GorkaMorka. Led by the fearsome Forge Mongers, ancient smiths whose bulk is more muscle then fat, the Furnace Kings hordes are equipped to spread the might of their god throughout all the realms!

The Pyrosei Smiths make up the priesthood of the Furnace Kings. These Ogors dedicate themselves to finding the hottest flames and capturing them into fierce weapons. The Pyrosei Smiths are constantly forging weapons, carrying portable Maw Forges on their backs, and wielding their fearsome Lattite Hammers, few things in nature can stop these hulking masters.

Alright, it's time to introduce the backbone of the army, The Kharcole Assemblers are the newest recruits to the Furnace Kings ranks, these smiths were considered the best amongst their tribes; now they have given up their prestige to learn the secrets of the Brotherhood of the Blue Flame.IMG_1657.JPG.ac0152bc4aa7fcdd5cda9c43a5e5b866.JPG

hey everyone, sorry I haven't made any recent posts, I just had to build and name a bunch of units, without further ado lets get started.

The Iron Baerons are the leaders and faces of the Furnace Kings, it was the most ancient of these lords that convinced Gorkamorka to let them help his waaagh by forging weapons instead of fighting. Each of these "kings" has grown large in gut, strength and cunning.IMG_1658.JPG.06ef2008665b11824487691b8efde4df.JPG

One of the more ingenious(or perhaps suicidal) warmachines created by the Furnace Kings is a 'Ope Breaker, a combination of battering ram, siege tower, flame thrower, and catapult that is designed to turn any fortress into nothing but scrap.IMG_1660.JPG.6984591c796ec116eb316a061a1408e6.JPG

Tenders of the sacred flames that power the Maw Forges, the Furnace Stokers are Ogors who have had strange and dangerous flame spewing devices connected directly to their bodies, all so that they might Wield the Suneaters deadly weapon more efficiently.

It is rare to see an Orruk that is smart enough to count to ten, let alone design mighty machines; but that is exactly what a Rigger Monkey does, turning whatever he has on hand into deadly weapons and vehicle of mass destruction in the name of The Suneater.

Someone has to train the Junkyard Mutts and keep the Grot Scabateurs honest, and that job falls to the Fyre Bull, an Orruk who uses his vicious cunning and leashed Squig in order to help protect his Boss's loot.1551607854_Photoon6-6-18at6_07PM.jpg.72f7468da74f6b1c34f41987d05c96f8.jpg

Stolen or abandoned as pups, these dogs and sometimes even wolf cubs are beaten and trained to protect their Iron Baron's holdings. Theyoften driven mad by the games of the forges, and are equipped with large bone shards as weapons, as well as their rabid bite.IMG_1664.JPG.0a599f2b7fe78590629642c8e6f0a15c.JPG

Thieves extraordinary, Grot Scabatuers are hanger ons to the Furnace Kings, often taken in by the Brotherhood of the Blue Flame as servants, these gross are trained to find the valuable pieces of scrap metal and to "help" enemy fortifications and machines return to GorkaMorkas WAAAAGH!IMG_1666.JPG.7a28567d083f253beeb050740c9b9fdb.JPG

The flame thrower on your siege engine may be too techy, it could pass on a skaven model with some slight mods but its very tech for relatively robust, brutish and iron beating faction.

Alternative could include:
A rack of lead belcher guns
A set of irondrake guns
etc

Other angles on that model would be cool

On the slaver replacing the grabba top with a speartip would make it look a tad less 40K but great model choice

Good use of the dwarven balloons as aether fume bladders for your ranged infantry.

Darn, if I used an irk flamer, would that be to high tech? I don’t have any lead belchers yet.

i shall deliver

thank you, I saw the Gretchen and the ork and decided yes!, would a frostlord spear tip look to over the top?

thanks, my frigate broke recently beyond repair so I used that and two of the endriggers balloons.

Both sound like decent concepts, whats the "who/what/why" of each concept?

i.e. Is it a standard or named Iron Baron on Maw Krusha, Why specifically the Maw Krusha as the mount, what makes it ideal for the Funace kings as a faction, what differentiates it from a normal orruk on maw krusha

Similarly with the giant: Siege how? Is it a mobile siege tower or a range artillery piece, in terms of platform do you mean carrying ogors/grots or just in terms of a supporting unit, how does this differ from the two gargant scrolls currently out.

With more flesh on the concepts picking between the two will become much easier.

I picked the maw krusha because it seems to be a force of pure destruction, it ties into an idea I have that the Furnace Kings congregate around junkyards and areas of disaster. The gargant would be wearing a frame crewed by Grots, and would effectively carry units and move Warmachines into better positions.

Here's some basic lore for the Iron Baron on Maw Krusha.

While often seen amongst the strongest of the Ironjawz Orruks, Maw Krusha's are highly valued by the Furnace Kings as well, if for different reasons. Maw Krushas are seen as Gorkamorkas stubborn will incarnate and It is a brave Iron Baron who will go seek out a nest of these creatures. After successfully stealing an egg from under it's mothers nose(a feat of cunning to impress Mork), the Baron returns to his junk kingdom; placing the egg near a Maw Furnace seems to imbue the unborn beast with an immunity and love of the flames of the suneater. Once the egg hatches, the Iron Baron feeds the Maw-krusha a sacred dish of Cold Flame chili, Pyre Scarabs, and scrap metal to make it grow strong, as well as constantly beating it to remind it's small brain who exactly is in charge. When the beast reaches adult hood, the Brotherhood of Da Blue Flame takes the beast inside their temples and feeds it a small portion of Da Suneater's Charsoul, a flame so intense that it burns the very magic of the Realms itself; The Maw-krusha is then driven mad for three days and nights, until finally it comes out and kneels before it's master.

As for the Siege Gargant, so far the idea is that the Baeron approaches a Gargant and offers them the chance to strike out against the beings who murdered Behemat(the Gargant realm beast), taken to the forges, they are equipped with heavy plates and potent enchantments of strength and pain resistance, before having siege and construction equipment built directly into their bodies.

Brief nod to the Furnace Kings in the history of Suneater Migrations:

THE LOST MIGRATION
Whilst the tribes hail from nearly every Realm there is one that no tribe calls home, the mercurial and shifting metallic realm of Chamon, it is said in centuries past some upstart Ogor tribe within that cursed realm considered themselves the true disciples of the Suneater. What followed was a savage battle between the Suneater migration and the self dubbed Furnace King of Chamon over the true teachings of their destructive God (who likely simply revelled in the fresh destruction and onslaught to be witnessed). It is said the Prophets and Iron Baron clashed over days, weeks and months, every battle sending hundreds of Ogors to an early grave and countless grots, great gouts of flame clashing with cold and beaten ironworks of the Furnace kings yet there was to be little victory found on their side.

As the months turned to years the first great prophet made a decree, the realm of Chamon was to be blocked to the Suneater tribes, the children of the Suneater could not waste their numbers in such petty conflicts whilst the true enemy of their kind erected yet more cities, walls and fortresses across the other realms that they had neglected. Instead an accord was found, the Iron Barons would send great shipments of the Iron Bark of their realm through the mighty gates to Aqshy and the Suneaters holy site, in return the Fyrepowders of the realm of fire would be sent back, each would pursue the destruction of the cities of Order in their own manner without shedding the blood of other Ogors.

The accord was sworn, yet shakily held, all together weakened by the rumoured the Iron Barons had made off with a shard of the eternal flame of the Suneater stolen from a fallen prophet. What machinations these Ogor engineers had for such a potent relic was as of yet unknown, though if it was brought to bear against the newly swelled ranks of the Suneaters the conflict might well consume both tribes.

You do me a great justice kind sir.
