Nico Posted February 27, 2018 Share Posted February 27, 2018 If you're looking for Age of Sigmar, Shadespire, 40K, Bloodbowl, Necromunda or other games in London, then head down to the South London Legion any Wednesday afternoon. This week we're all very excited for Blood Tithe - @Marc Wilson 's International AoS Team Event - twenty teams in total invading Crawley (near Gatwick) from far and wide. The Legion has been helping with the organisation of this event; and three teams of four are going to the event from the Legion (Da Kunniest Rukk, South London Leftovers and Only the Filthful (my team), together with Max who has joined @Soup Dragon and his Cursed With Years team. You can find us here: Croydon Conference Centre 5-9 Surrey Street Croydon Surrey CR0 1RG @sthlondonlegion AoS This week there will be a good turnout of people playing AoS in preparation for Blood Tithe, together with others trying out new armies (mainly Nurgle and Legions of Nagash). It's going to be an exciting weekend, with the Open Day happening as well - so hopefully some news about future releases. There will be the usual mixture of 2,000 point games going on. If you have a smaller force, then someone should be happy to give you an introductory or demo game as well. A lot of excitement over Nurgle and then Death and then boom Morathi! Plenty of new armies are being built/planned. I’ve got plenty of models for all three armies - boom! Last Wednesday we welcomed a number of new players: Arthur, Ed, James II and Ralph. There were some exciting games - Death vs Freeguild (need more Griffons!) and KO vs Swifthawk Agents: Prior to that Simon and John's Winter Waaagh was a real success as a one day event - lots of fun had by all. After Blood Tithe we're thinking about some Malign Portents - perhaps a combination of Skirmish games (using the new supplemental rules in that book) and narrative Battleplans. Then Heat 2 will be upon us. We're also in the early stages of planning #BigBash which will be an all day narrative megabattle between several of our armies - Archaon and 4 Exalted Greater Daemons vs Nagash, Mortarchs and 6 Flappies - what's not to love? Runedaddy has a go at Derpghar. I finally found uses for that oversized axe and Kairic Acolytes. Bloodbowl Simon's Dwarves took on John's Orcs. The game ended in a 0:0 draw, but was good fun! My Skaven took on Matt’s Humans - playing the second half of the game . It was a truly fascinating game - a narrow win for the Magmic Mice. Immediately afterwards, the TTT, my Vampires (who may need to convert back into Daughters of Khaine) took on Matt's Chaos Dwarves. The game was bizarre, my fouling backfired sharply, but I barely failed a Bloodlust roll and hardly touched my 5 first half team rerolls, while Matt couldn't break armour or cause significant injuries. My numbers went down with 4 Thralls sent off for little benefit. The game swung back and forth, but the Vampires passing game was strong giving me a 2:1 lead. Matt strung together a spectacular play without having any rerolls to make up for his bad injury rolls and level the game. The League is reaching a climax with the next two games decisive for the coveted trophy. I'm taking on Rob's Skitz Skatz next time! Bloodbowl is such an amazing game! New players are also welcome! Shadespire We're looking forward to the Shadespire event this Friday at Blood Tithe (2 March). The only way is up for me with my 6-games 5-Losses record. Should be a perfect second game to fit around a main game in an evening. Or you can just play 4 games back to back . 40K Simon Weakley ate some faces with 6 Flyrants recently! Lots of excitement from Sami, John and others for the Blood Angels - a couple of Blood Angels-offs in recent weeks. The Cerastus Knight Atropos is built and my Raptors/Ad Mech list is built bar the Onager and 6 Aggressors. Sami is doing well with the Necrons and pumped for new Battletome! Ben Raven, Nathan and Simon Weakley seem very excitable about Tyranids! Simon Froley is keen for Tau! It has slowly dawned on me that I already own a significant amount of models for a Daemons list or Thousand sons (might finally use 30 Tzaangor and 9 Enlightened!). Shame the Exalted Greater Daemons in 40K got nerfed into oblivion, but hopefully can use them as regular versions. I've now accumulated a load of models for a Thousand Sons/Emperor's Children force. Craig is leading the way with his Ad Mech - awesome painting! I’m just going to leave this here: One of the cohort of Bens owns this chap. Necromunda Simon Froley is leading the charge with James hot on his heels. Very exciting game. Will be going strong this year and the level of support from GW (e.g. Squat Mercenary and Genestealer Cults in White Dwarf). Orlocks look epic.
