Club night at the South London Legion - Wednesday 7 February 2018

Recommended Posts

If you're looking for Age of Sigmar, Shadespire,  40K, Bloodbowl, Necromunda or other games in London, then head down to the South London Legion any Wednesday afternoon.

There will be the usual mixture of 2,000 point games going on. If you have a smaller force, then someone should be happy to give you an introductory or demo game as well.

A lot of excitement over Nurgle and then Death and then boom Aelves! Very excited over Legions of Nagash dropping imminently. Plenty of new armies are being built/planned. I’ve got plenty of models for all three armies - boom!

Last Wednesday was our AoS club night - we had 4 games of AoS concurrently - the variety of armies was great to see - and what games they were!

On the narrative front, Dead Ben’s Flappies took on Alex’s Sky Fleet - the Battleplan was Prospector Down from the KO Battletome. The photos just shriek with drama!

Elsewhere James’s Seraphon scored a narrow victory against Dec’s heavily converted Slaanesh (which will look amazing when the details are painted)!

Maxime’s converted Nurgle played against Ben Savva’s Masters list - Nurgloid Savage Orruks! Confused? The Battle took place in the docks of Alex’s Sky Port as these were temporarily vacated.

Familiar opponents Ben Murphy and Leo Rautonen clashed on Duality of Death - Mixed Order vs Changehost plus Kairos.

For my part, I chatted and deckbuilt my Bloodreavers for Shadespire - looking forward to playing at #BloodTithe!

Simon Froley and John “Gitli” have organised a gaming day for club-mates and friends - this coming Saturday at Warboar in Bromley - should be good fun! Will be a fine opportunity for Death players to download the Legions of Nagash book soon after midnight Friday on iTunes, read it, write a list and put it on the table 10 hours later. What could possibly go wrong?

More games are taking place tomorrow in Croydon as normal.

In tournament news, Ben Savva fought with honour at the Masters and might have unseated Jack Armstrong with a few luckier dice rolls. He followed this up with a strong 5 wins at Heat One, while Simon Froley came in as top Ironjawz and qualified. I did decidedly less well with Archaon. Blood Tithe and Heat Two now beckon!

We're also in the early stages of planning #BigBash which will be an all day narrative megabattle between several of our armies - Archaon and 4 Exalted Greater Daemons vs Nagash, Mortarchs and 6 Flappies - what's not to love?
Runedaddy has a go at Derpghar. I finally found uses for that oversized axe and Kairic Acolytes.
My Skaven took on Matt’s Humans - the second half is coming this week. The League is heating up with plenty of teams in contention for the coveted trophy.
Bloodbowl is such an amazing game!
Rob led the League on New Year’s Eve. Marathon (Rob's movement 10 Gutter Runner somehow avoided death by foul) has scored 6 Touchdowns! However other teams are closing in on him and learning Tackle.
New players are also welcome!
I’m just going to leave this here:
Looking forward to the Shadespire event on the Friday before Blood  Tithe (2 March). The only way is up for me with my 5-games 5-Losses record.
Should be a perfect second game to fit around a main game in an evening. Or you can just play 4 games back to back :D.
Simon Weakley ate some faces with 6 Flyrants recently!
Lots of excitement from Sami, John and others for the Blood Angels - a couple of Blood Angels-offs in recent weeks.
The Cerastus Knight Atropos is built and my Raptors/Ad Mech list is nearly built!
Sami is doing well with the Necrons! Ben Raven, Nathan and Simon Weakley seem very excitable about Tyranids!
It has slowly dawned on me that I already own a significant amount of models for a Daemons list or Thousand sons (might finally use 30 Tzaangor!). Shame the Exalted Greater Daemons in 40K got nerfed into oblivion, but hopefully can use them as regular versions.
Craig is leading the way with his Ad Mech - awesome painting!
One of the cohort of Bens owns this chap.
Simon Froley is leading the charge with James hot on his heels. Very exciting game. Will be going strong in the New Year.
I salvaged some metal Van Saar and other dudes.
@Thanatos Ares
@Marc Wilson

Give me a shout on the forum or post below and I can add you to our AoS WhatsApp chatroom (96,000 messages and counting - I swear fully half of it is John talking about Khorgoraths).

Always appreciate the showing of my Super Xmas jumper... Just sad it's now at the back of the cupboard until next Christmas! :(

We should probably display it at the club!
