tom_gore
This affects all melee weapons on the unit, so I assume it will also affect mounts? There's no mention that this is a one-use ability so should be able to use each round?
heywoah_twitch
As per the General's Handbook 2017 FAQ: Page 117 – Allegiance Abilities, Mounts Change the second sentence to: ‘In all such cases, any command traits or magical artefacts can only be used to affect attacks made by the hero, and have no effect on attacks made by the their mount unless specifically stated otherwise.’ Emphasis mine, it was a typo. Command Abilities function properly, and grant bonuses to mounts when appropriate.

BunkhouseBuster
You could easily go either way with this one. I haven't seen anything in the FAQs that makes a ruling on this, and until we do, it could swing one way or another. To be fair, I haven't had much of a chance to look at the GH2017 aside from the points costs of my army, so we may have got a ruling on this already. That said, I would argue that it would affect the mounts of other units. Logic being that the mount's weapons are also melee weapons used by the unit. In the example of relic weapons being given to heroes in Matched Play now only affecting the unit, that is a logical connection based on the wording of the item itself - a big fancy sword is a big fancy sword, not a big fancy tusk/claw/tail I haven't dug too deep into the FAQs or even the rules in a while recently. I can scrounge around this weekend hopefully and take a look and come back here for further discussion.

I suppose this doesn't clearly answer whether it applies to OTHER units or not, but I would play it as no, the ability does not affect mounts. It's easy to the intention behind the rule, and even if it seems to just apply to heroes, I'd suggest playing it as it was intended. Mounts are mounts, not weapons. Regarding using the ability each round, my understanding is that you can! A bit odd for people who played Orcs & Goblins in WHFB. Actually the part you underlined was errata'ed to command traits, so it seems command abilities do affect mounts unless specifically said they do not.
