Trying to form my first Tzeentch list.

Hi guys.

I'm pretty new to the gaming side and am trying to put together a 1000 point Tzeentch list out of the models I have so far, namely the Start Collecting: Daemons of Tzeentch (built with Exalted Flamer on chariot and Herald on foot),  10 Tzaangors, 3 Skyfires, a Gaunt Summoner and a Sorcerer Lord. I also have a maximum of about £25 to spend to add something to it if needed (saving up for a deposit for a wedding that probably won't happen if she finds out I'm spending a fortune on models ?)

Im thinking about the following list:

Herald of Tzeentch -120

Gaunt Summoner - 120

10 Tzaangors - 180

10 Pink Horrors - 120

3 Skyfires - 200

3 Enlightened - 160

Tzaangor Coven - 90

Total 990

Or

Chaos Sorcerer Lord - 160 (or Tzaangor Shaman?)

Ogroid Thaumaturge - 160

10 Tzaangor -180

10 Pink Horrors - 120

3 Skyfires - 200

1 Burning Chariot - 160

Total 980

Which list (if any) has the most potential? Is it going to be more beneficial to buy some Enlightened, the Thaumaturge or the Shaman? Maybe something else is better?

I also have 3 Flamers and 3 Screamers that I can use, but the Skyfires seem better to me.

Any help would be really appreciated!

Imo the first list is probably stronger, though I'd def find room for a Tzaangor Shaman as his aura is just too good to ignore. Unfortunately, that would mean dropping both heroes since he is 160pts. Which I think is fine. Which would leave you with 90pts that could go into some chafe (blues and brimstones) or harassment (marauder horsemen with mark of tzeentch), though unfortunately the latter only comes in a box of 10 for £30 so a bit above your budget.

Thanks for your reply.

I do like the idea of the Tzaangor Shaman and he would seem a fitting general in a Tzaangor heavy army, but the points cost changes seem to have made it more difficult to fit in two heroes unless I'm using two of the 120 pointers. Do you find that one hero can be enough in 1000 point games?

I haven't ever played a 1000pt game actually, Been playing 2k since day one. I think the only risk of having a single hero is in scenarios that require heroes to capture objectives, in which case that could be an issue, you are right. If you are worried about it you could bring in an Exalted Champion of Chaos with Mark of Tzeentch (80pts), he doesn't do much other than act as a beatstick but he can grab those hero only objectives. :)
