Veillotron
Per the warscroll extract below, the Lord-Castellant's Warding Lantern allows SE to "add 1 to all save rolls" until the next hero phase. I wanted to confirm that "all save rolls" correspond to any save roll, be it against a wound, a mortal wound or any other? Taking an example: My General is a Lord-Celestant on Stardrake, with the 'Shielded by Faith' Command Trait (granting him a save against MW on a 5+) and taking the Armour of Destiny (granting him an additional save against failed W and MW saves on a 6). If the Lord-Castellant casts his Warding Lantern on the LCoS, then Against 'normal' missile and melee attacks, the LCoS saves on a 2+, re-rolling 1s because of his sigmarite shield. For any unsaved wounds (requiring to roll two 1s in a row), because of his armour he can save on a roll of 5 or 6. Against MW attacks/spells, the LCoS would make a save on a 4+ (the Shielded by Faith boosted with the Warding Lantern's +1); should that save fail, the Armour would grant him another save, this time on a 5+ And all that time, every 6 rolled (i.e., 17% of rolls) would heal back a wound on the LCoS... Am I getting this right? If that is the case, Stormcasts are able to make some tanky heroes even tankier... Putting my lovely mathhammer hat on, this combo would grant the LCoS a save rate of 98.1%, 92.6%, and 83.3 against normal attacks with a rend of 0,-1 and -2, respectively. 66.7% against MWs. CountryMou3e
Shielded by faith , your not making a save roll, you are just rolling to see if you ignore the wound. So I'd say no, it does not stack with warding lantern. The reason it saves all save rolls is due to some abilities only triggering on say rolls of 1 A similar ability , duty unto death (hearthguard bezerkers) again ignores wounds rather then saving them. Thus preventing rerolls from a battle smith. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
rokapoke
Nothing acts as a save against mortal wounds. They are, as @CountryMou3e indicates, rolls to ignore the wounds. The only thing that the Lantern affects are the traditional saves against missile and melee attacks. Rend counteracts the +1 making it impossible to roll a 7 for healing. Indeed, both the Armour of Destiny and Shielded by Faith talk about ignoring wounds and / or mortal wounds... Also @rokapoke, thanks for correcting me on the attacks with rend, indeed it will be impossible to get a 7 (unless someone stacks multiple Warding Lanterns...) Cheers!
