Wading into the world of Sigmar...

Recommended Posts

Hey folks, just signed up on what looks to be a great site and am just saying hello from the never great state of New Jersey ;) Used to fiddle around with wood elves back in the old world, but kind of fell away. Gotta say I am pretty enthused about where Age of Sigmar is heading with the new General's Handbook on the near horizon. And with such enthusiasm and hopeful expectation on hand, this is what happens to your work station in a short couple of days ?

Welcome to the TGA community! A very varied haul you have there. How are you planning on building them up?

Thanks for the welcome, gents!

Silver Tower was a must buy to entertain the nostalgic little kid in me, not to mention the minis are just gorgeous and the gameplay sounds really pretty great.  Been wanting to start a chaos warband for several years now, but didn't care much for the khorne dominance since AoS launched; been waiting to see how the 'lesser' gods would be handled.  Seeing the Tzangor models and the gaunt summoner in here I knew they would be the start of my army, so I will tie them in with the 'getting started' boxset of chaos warriors and knights and go from there as they reveal what else they have in store for Tzeentch.

The Orrucks was a complete impulse buy.  I had been sitting on a pretty hefty giftcard and kind of fell in love with the new models when they were released so bought an entire starter army to get started...at no real cost to my wallet :)

welcome to the site , and must agree that's a very nice haul you have! Also a nice start with no wallet cost too :)

must agree with you that I am very interested to see where they take some of the chaos gods in sigmar , so myself in kinda holding off on chaos for right now but I'm sure I'll jump in at some point as well.

anyways again welcome :)

Yep! it's the dark side of hauls... all too quickly do they become "backlogs"...

You best get painting :P

Thankfully I have a four-day holiday weekend on hand after Thursday, so I plan on diving in full force to all of sprue-y goodness! :D

Thanks for the moral support, stay tuned...;)

Enjoy your holiday building minis!  Nothing wrong with impulse buys.  My spare room is full of grey plastic.

Nice to see a fellow Tzeentch lover on board too.  I love those tzaangors.  Really hoping for a box of them later in the year.

That isn't wading. That's jumping off the Sigmar pier into the modelling ocean.

Considering it has been 8 months that have passed, this is probably worthy of an update.
Nearing 1500 points completed thus far of my IronJawz:
20 Ardboyz, 10 Brutes, 6 Gruntas, 2 Megabosses, and the Weirdnob shaman. Adding at least another 5 Brutes and potentially another 3 Gruntas. And the gargant from the Thunderfist box. Just wish that battalion was pointed to use :(
