Overread 8,323 Posted February 28, 2020 Nice work on the skeletal parts, a very clean and yet "dirty" effect that carries very well. You might want to look at some shading on the segments of the shield and armour, just a little extra darkness on the underside of each plate. Quote Link to comment
Sleboda 4,334 Posted February 29, 2020 Yeah, for sure. They start out much darker, but I get, um, "enthusiastic" with the lighter reds at 4 a.m. after my 7th vodka red bull. 😉 1 Quote Link to comment
CommissarRotke 3,615 Posted March 9, 2020 this looks really good! did you paint them separately then attach rider? Quote Link to comment
Sleboda 4,334 Posted March 10, 2020 Thanks! The base is painted on its own first, then the model is attached. The model is glued to a card on a paint handle for the priming, initial wash, and bone drybrushing. Then it's popped off and glued to the base for the rest. Other than the base, the rest is all assembled at one go. This is a touch different from the spear guys where the shield gets basecoated and glued on after the main model is done.
