    The Hag!

    By Eevika

The Troggoth Hag is definitely a piece I believe every Troggoth army needs. It's amazing as a model and amazing on the table. I rarely do such detailed eyes and faces but when working on a model that is the centrepiece of your army you want to spend some extra time just to make it special. This is surely the best work I have ever done on a models face and I think there is just a lot of character and emotion on the model.  My smaller Troggoths are just green and blue but for t

Budget of Sigmar 2 - November

As you know I have been taking part in the Warhammer Weekly Budget of Sigmar 2 challenge.  This month I had to assemble, convert and paint a unit and a hero. I cheated a bit with the hero and used my Nurgle Lord of Plagues conversion that I had already done. For this months unit though I used a Beast of Nurgle conversion that I had in mind for a while. It basically involved using the Plague Drones bodies and putting them on the ground. I removed the wings and rolled out some Green stuff to

Test Model - Warchanter

I have been working on a test model for my destruction force, its an Ironjawz warchanter. Before I add the pictures lets start with the usual excuses: I'm by no means a decent painter I haven't really painted anything properly for a year The camera is pretty awful HOWEVER, that being said, I really do feel like this is very indicative of my skill level at painting. It wasn't rushed, this really is me working hard on a figure and I am pretty proud of the results.

Rise of the Spider

Hey guys!   So there is a tournament coming up the day before Christmas that I am considering going to. I recently managed to purchase a bunch of spider riders and stuff so I'm thinking the list will be: Goblin big boss on giant spider - General (Considering Ravager to ensure the stonehorn gets in turn one) Frostlord on stonehorn - Battle Brew Araknarok with spider shrine Git mob Grot shaman   10 Spider riders - full command 5 spider riders - full com

Mengel Miniatures' Nighthaunt Army

I recently decided to start a new small force for my half of the Team Tournament for Adepticon. I'm taking my Tomb Kings for the singles tournament and wanted to play something different the day before for the Team Tourney to give myself some variety and avoid burning myself out on 8 games in a row with the same army. This also gives me a little break from painting Tomb Kings. I also have Stormcast but I'm trying to paint those to 'Eavy Metal standards. I have about 500 - 700 points done so

Warhammer Weekly - New Armies from Santa Sigmar with Rhellion and Luckysixes

Join us this week with our guests Brad and Andrea Schwandt, better known as Rhellion and LuckySixes, as these two titans of the twitterers talk with us about starting a new force for Age of Sigmar. As Christmas is just around the corner - many of you might be asking for little plastic dollies under the tree and we are going to give our thoughts for the best deals and best armies for Santa to bring.

I'm terrible

So I know it has been way, way too long since I updated this. I will try to be more active, my thread in the destruction subforum currently is a bit more up to date. Admittedly, painting on the greenskins is slow. But right now that is due to the advent competition I am taking part in, in my local GW. Basically you bought something under £20 and a base or layer paint, that got wrapped, and on the 1st of December everyone who entered got one at random and have to use the paint bundled as the prim

Undiscovered Power Lists: Order Draconis

Despite the simple core rules, Warhammer: Age of Sigmar is a deep and complex wargame, with most of the complexity found in the unit rules, or ‘warscrolls’. Metagame-defining combos are still being discovered, hidden in plain sight within (and between) the hundreds (and hundreds) of warscrolls available. Here in the land of Tron we have access to the ‘Rain Man’ of the Age of Sigmar, a mysterious figure known only as ‘Jim’. Jim has a sixth sense at finding combos, and I wanted to start a ser

Orion - 1

Orion - WIP #1   It's been some time since my last post. Currently, I am visiting the US and hence haven't been able to make any progress on the 'Woods of Warhammer'. At least buying Warhammer is cheaper here. I'll be sure to get some on the way home.   Before I left I dug up an old 'Orion, King of the Woods' model. It took some time to take the paint off it but I am glad that I did.   With this model I'm aiming towards a fading/dying feel. As Orion is born in spring and

Growing the Oak of Ages

After Blood and Glory last weekend I came home pumped up for some new and exciting Hobby challenges. The first thing I decided to do was create my very own Oak of Ages to be the centrepiece of a new set of Sylvaneth terrain. I've purchased a Grassy Plains 2 FAT mat and I realised I didn't have any 'green' terrain to go with it. So I started raiding the terrain bin....  A while ago I'd bought a big piece of Aquarium terrain to make a realm gate with, and I knew that my son had collected some

Getting there

Been a bit quiet as I have been mostly picking lists, then changing my mind and then changing it again.   Currently I have amassed: Orc Warboss on Boar Goblin Shaman on Arachnarok Spider Moonclan Shaman IronJawz Warchanter 20 Moonclan Grots 20 Ardboyz 10 Brutes In the process of painting through these, My camera phone is awful for photos but I will be pinching the Missus phone at some point to put some pictures up.   I am t

Warriors of chaos

I'm doing a blueish theme as I couldn't decide on slaanesh or tzeentch so i picked a light blue as a happy medium.  First step after priming is base coat the metal areas pure white. Next step is to apply blue glaze to all the white parts.  Next I apply a green wash over the blue after it has dried.I forgot to take a picture of this step but it basically turns into a deep green when the green wash dries over the blue.    Next step is to take ice blue and dry brush it on the

Skaven Mouse Trap Terrain

Foolishly, with only two hobby evenings to go until Blood and Glory, I've decided to make some new terrain! I bought an old copy of the Mouse Trap board game a while back, knowing I probably didn't have time to get it assembled and painted in time as well as finishing my army to a decent standard. I was right, but I'm going for it anyway.  Sorry for the rubbish photos. I'll take some better ones when I finish them tomorrow (fingers crossed!).

Battletome: The End Times 2.0 is released!

Effective immediately! Go download! I am immensely proud to say that the new update to Battletome: The End Times is finally released. It has been a labour of love, and an effort to keep improving the project as times move on. This is the first major update, and what an update it is.   From the beginning, I've thought of making this tome into a campaign. After some experiences of running them in my local club, I had an epiphany. Playing long campaigns is hard. Life gets in the

Airbrushing: My First Steps.

Weeks ago I decided to finally begin Airbrushing in earnest.  Until that moment I was honing my skills with a brush (and even did a lot of priming with a brush) with  a plethora of techniques to still learn. Here is my weapon of choice.  Found a great deal online. I managed to find a great deal on the brush above and purchased it without a second thought (over one year ago).  Then I let it sit in the box unopened for about eight months.  To be honest I was intimidated by the thought of st
