  1. Looks incredible, always love a good Kurnoth hunter scythe conversion and i adore the vibrant colour scheme. Also until theres an announcement on the community site/ facebook I am going to assume that these warscrolls are mistaken.
  2. Thanks! The armour is just Retributor armour spray, then Reikland Fleshshade wash, Auric Gold layer followed by a Stormhost Silver highlight. Pretty quick and easy once you get the hang of it.
  3. Thanks! The blades are super easy, base of Celestra grey, then Nihilakh Oxide, then a drybrush of Wrack White, very quick and easy.
  4. dea

    Treelord ancient just finished.

Well now I just feel bad about my own Sylvaneth. Looks amazing.
  5. I have finished the wooden shields of Alarielle. Pretty pleased with how they have turned out, the green shoulders and blue blades tie them in pretty well with the rest of my army. Up next are my Dracoths, having an internal debate over these, wondering if I should chop off those hammer heads and replace them with Scythes, as well as how to approach painting them. I am thinking of doing them in a similar manner to my Magmadroth, just without the metallic scales, but that may be a bit too much. Well only one way to find out, unless any of you have some good suggestions for Dracoth paint schemes that fit in with the rest of the army. Once I am done painting these guys I have no choice but to start basing,... so it may take a while. As always c&c are appreciated.
  6. I have finished the Scythes of Alleriel, very pleased with how they turned out, they're clearly part of the overall army while adding some golden armour to the sea of wooden bodies. They were easy to convert and easy to paint up, the only downside to them is how expensive it would be to add another 5 now that i dont just have the parts lying around. Up next you can see I have blocked in the colours for my Liberators, still have to highlight everything, but you can see the general direction that I am going for and I am pretty pleased with how its turning out. After these 10 I have 2 dracoth riders left to paint, along with the Prime and Knight-Venerator to build and convert, debating what i should do for those, as I want to give them some Sylvaneth elements on top of the paint job. Gonna try and see if the Kurnoth bow fits the Venerator well enough, mayb through in some sprites. On another note I still haven't started basing... my self justification at this point is that I will finish the army and then base it so that its all consistent, at least thats what I keep telling myself. Of course once I am done with the stormcast contingent I may very well be looking to add some flying dwarf backup. or even some Cthulu elves if they are cool enough. Comments and criticisms as always are appreciated.
  7. Thanks for the feedback! Honestly at this point I am thinking going easy for the bases. I already dont want to do them so makes sense to make it as painless as possible. Thinking of doing some texture paint, a drybrush or 2 and then some flocks of grass. Alleriella is probably gonna have some dryads clawing their way out of the ground on her base, but I only have so many extra dryad bodies so thats gonna be the gods alone. P.S. drowning Skaven in swamp bases sounds awesome, now I will be disappointed if you dont do that.
  8. It has been a while, but that is the school life for you. Managed to finally finish off the last of my Sylvaneth, unfortunately this means i have no more excuses and need to begin basing them. As you can see I had a little AoS painting break, but honestly the Visarch could totally fit in a fantasy elf army. For what is next for me? well on the the Stormcast allies for my tree people. I will either be converting all of them or painting them to look like they have received gifts from Allerial to give a running theme throughout the force. What do you guys think of the wooden shields? I am currently debating whether I should make all of their weapons the glowing blue I have done for the Sylvaneth, but that may be a bit much, thats gonna take some experimenting to figure out. I always enjoy rambling to myself here, so time to get started on the Scythes of Allerial, and basing... I guess. Comments and criticisms as always are welcome.
  9. So a minor painting update, I have been swamped at school and am on my reading week, so I have only managed to get some base colours on my Treelord Ancient. I am thinking of making his claws ghostly to match the other Sylvaneths' weapons as i want his staff to be a vibrant flower. I am currently on my march break, and while you'd think that would give me more free time to paint, alas I am visiting family and all my paints are back at my apartment. On the upside though, I have finished building my Paladins, really pleased with how this conversion turned out, surprisingly easy, if incredibly expensive if I didn't already have the bits lying around. especially pleased with the Prime, go the idea for a wooden arm from the campaign book where the lady of the vines replaces a Stormcasts hand. This means not only does the conversion look cool, it also has fluff precedent. I am hoping I will be able to finish painting my Treelord Ancient and my 3 remaining Hunters before my exams start, but its going to be one hell of a rush to the end of the school year. (Spirit of Durthu for reference for what the Ancient will kind of look like once I am done)
  10. So not strictly AoS related, but these would look amazing for an Free Peoples force. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1084608523/1647254930?token=bc432c54
  11. I know the pull of hobby ADD far too well. The undead look amazing so far! really enjoy your paint scheme on the Terrorgheist and the idea of all your undead heroes in masks is great, very original and slightly creepy. Keep up the good work, I am looking forwards to their eventual expansion.
  12. So this is what I have painted so far. Basing is obviously to come. I could lie and say i was waiting until i was finished so that it would be unifying, but frankly I have no idea what I want to do for it yet, so bare they stay. I have three Hunters and a Treelord Ancient left to paint, then it is on to my stormcast, test conversion for the paladins has also been included, pretty pleased with how it turned out. CC very welcome along with good basing ideas.
  13. I am most interested in the price for the Prosecutors. Because 100$ for 6 is a great deal compared to now.. but its still incredibly steep for a single unit. If the new Judicators are like 75$ Canadian and the new Prosecutors under 100$, my Stormcast may be about to grow exponentially.
  14. ......But I'm excited to add giant chocobo riders to my Sylvaneth. Thought actually a elf faction riding these would be undeniably awesome.
