  1. Hi all, regarding Bastian's the Thunderborn ability, if I target say a unit of 30 models with a wounds characteristic of 1, do I roll 1 die for the mortal wounds or 30?
  2. Hi all! I have 10 blood warriors I need to assemble - what configuration is better? Gorefists or Dual Weapons?
  3. I went to Mancunian Carnage too! But went 0-5...! I hadn't played with the new book yet (and much of AOS 3), and made some errors, but had fun and was nominated for best painted. A lot was learnt and I need to bring stuff that kills things... 4. Hi all, hope you're well! I'm just needing some help with options for a tournament list I'm making for July. I'm not aiming for cut throat competition, but something with teeth. I need the most help with items / abilities etc: LEADERS Lord-Arcanum on Gryph-Charger (200) - General - Command Trait: We Cannot Fail - Artefact: God-forged Blade - Spell: Stormcaller - Mount Trait: Keen-clawed Drakesworn Templar (420) - Tempest Axe - Artefact: Armor of Silvered Sigmarite - Mount Trait: Storm-winged Lord-Relictor (100) - Prayer: Translocation Lord-Castellant (120) UNITS 10 x Sequitors (240) - Stormsmite Mauls and Soulshields - 4 x Stormsmite Greatmaces 10 x Sequitors (240) - Stormsmite Mauls and Soulshields - 4 x Stormsmite Greatmaces 5 x Liberators (90) - Warblade & Shield - 1 x Grandblades 5 x Evocators (210) - Lore of Invigoration: Celestial Blades 3 x Evocators on Dracolines (260) - Lore of Invigoration: Speed of Lightning BATTALIONS Cleansing Phalanx (120) Is this an ok list? Wanting to stick to HoS as thats how they're painted and I'd like the dragon! -What is the best weapon for the drake? -What is the best abilties for the heroes (spells / mount traits etc) -What are the optimal options for the evocator units?
  5. Warscroll builder doesn't have blissbarb seekers or blissbarb archers, where do we ask GW about them?
  6. I played against a Nagash list yesterday (OBR). -Nagash -Boneshaper -30x Mortek -20x Mortek -10x Mortek -5x Kavalos Deathriders -Bone Tithe Shrieker My List was Pretenders -KoS -KoS 15x Chaos Warriors 5x Chaos Warriors 11x Blissbarb Archers 5x Blissbarb Seekers 5x Blissbarb Seekers 6x Fiends Battleplan was Forcing the Hand. I really like this book. I lost, as I made some mistakes (putting my blissbarb archers forward and one unit of seekers - was double turned against turn 2 and lost them to 30 Mortek). But, I'll talk about individual units instead of the battle... Keepers - I felt that they were awful. Yes, Nagash is on the field so my magic was negated and my rolling was awful, but I just didn't feel that they did enough for the points. I would still take one, as my rolling is bad so I feel that I'll try one again, but 2 is a little too much I think. Aegis is useful for saves, and they did generate depravity. I think other heroes would be better for support. I think Glutos would be good for the battleshock immunity, as I felt that we had low bravery for my mortal units. Chaos Warriors - 5x Chaos Warriors are ok sitting on an objective, but they can be removed really easily.... However, 15 of them were great. Held 30 buffed Mortek for 2 turns, rerolling armour saves. They are the anvil we need (until our Hedonite Chaos Warrior Archetype units get points reduced...). Yes, they don't get many of the Hedonite buffs, but for 270 points, they aren't going anywhere. The pretenders "Heir to the Throne" rule helped to re-roll ones to hit. Blissbarb Archers - as said above, played the wrong, so don't really know much about them. The shooting is good (Mortek don't give a damn about anything!) in other matchups I guess! Blissbarb Seekers - good speed, great shooting, and potential mortal wound output. I'd have a couple of these in my army every game. Fiends - the best unit we have. Unit of 6, being a retinue of my non general KoS, they hit like a ton of bricks, and cause a lot of damage. The buffs of -1 to hit and wound for a large unit makes them great, and attacking twice with the KoS command ability made them lethal. Autopick every game.
  7. Hey all! I've got my book, and itching to play a game. I've got an opportunity to play against a good friend of mine in TTS on Tuesday next week, so thought I'd bring out the Slaanesh. He is going to be playing Nagash / Kavalos Deathponies (15x5x5) (I'm guessing!). Now, I have no idea what I am doing, and he is going to bring a tough list. Good combo! So, I've done a little bit of research with the reviews that are out there, and from some of my own observations, and put together this list: Keeper of Secrets - Shining Aegis, Progeny of Damnation, Strongest Alone, Hunter of Godbeasts, Pendant of Slaanesh Keeper of Secrets - Sinistrous Hand (For healing!), Paths of the Dark Prince 11x Blissbarb Archers 15x Chaos Warriors 5x Chaos Warriors 5x Blissbarb Seekers 5x Blissbarb Seekers 6x Fiends Command Point 1970 So my first choice was Invaders, however, from seeing that I cannot use command abilities and command points if each keeper is within 12" of one another, it defeats the point of the list where I'm trying to make the keepers activate twice. It's a good chunk of my points, and although I feel if I get away from dual Keepers and into a more varied hero slot, I'll do Invaders. However, Pretenders gives the opportunity of a buffed up Keeper that can cause real hurt against a monster (Maybe.... Nagash?), and a secondary one is also good. Not too sure about the choices of spells, command abilities etc, but the mix I put together I feel gave the best options for me. As with anything with AoS, I feel suvivability is better than dmg, especially when the basic keeper hits like a truck anyway...! One thing I noticed when I tried to put a load of Daemonettes in my force, is that they've shot up in price. Battleline seems to be an issue in this army, mainly due to cost. I feel that the army lacks the armoured core that enemies can bounce off of, and Daemonettes just fold as soon as they're touched. So, as I needed battleline, and didn't want to pay hero tax for the Lord of Pain, Chaos Warriors were my answer. One unit to contest objective, one to hold one of my objectives. Hand Weapons and Shield, tough as nuts... I feel these guys will do ok. Maybe an opportunity to put a Lord and Warshrine in, but at that point I might as well play StD....! Blissbarb Archers / Seekers seem fast, shooty and a good foil against a slow army like Nagash and the Kavalos Deathriders (I guess there isn't as much special Ossiarch point generation with such a low unit / model cost force?) . Nagash struggles against shooting I believe? I've heard good things about the Seekers, so want to give them a shot. Finally, the Fiends seem great on paper, and I feel confident getting where they need to, hitting anything hard, and causing a good amount of damage. With 24 wounds, and I feel them being a unit that can act independently, I want to give them a shot. So that's it. I'll come back after the game for a review of the list, but any critiques would be appriciated!
  8. I think you have to be careful regarding the meta - my local meta doesn't really have a lot of the boogeymen lists, so it makes it enjoyable, even with meta changes / points, it doesn't change that much. Even living near Element Games in the UK where I've been to a couple of tournaments, I've never felt that my list has never had a chance, and I played almost starter set Hammers of Sigmar. It's ALOT better than 40k (although I must admit I haven't played 9th yet!). Yes, the balance does need to improve but I've never felt that it was literally unplayable. But again, probably depends on your local meta.
  9. For July, I think I'm going to do the Skullmaster and a Soulgrinder of Khorne. 2 big easy models.
  10. Done a couple of days ago, need to get the herald done.
  11. No Bloodsecrator, but that was points. I think I'm going to go with removing the bloodletters, getting 2 packs of dogs and a bloodsecrator. No Gore Pilgrims, but I don't want to spend 300 odd points on Battalions when I already have 2 Judgements. 400 points before I even do units!
  12. I'm going to do my Chaos army I think for this. I have mainly Slaves and Khorne, so most likely, I'll be bouncing from one to the other during this tale to make a mighty force. I'll pledge to play some games with my mis-mash force too. So for this month, I pledge... 1x Herald on Juggernaut 12x Bloodletters It's going to be a busy month for me as I'm moving during COVID. so I am hoping that I can complete this (I also have a bloodthrister to finish in the picture). If not, I'll complete along with the next pledge what is left over.
  13. Not too sure pricing wise, but it seems a good batch of models to get started with! The wrathmongers are pretty tasty. Just a question to the hive mind. I'm playing on Table Top Simulator against my good friend who lives abroad. We want to play the most competitive lists possible with the factions we've chosen. He likes the Bonereapers, and has gone for this: Petrifex (of course) Nagash Boneshaper 15x Cav 5x Cav 5x Cav Carrion Endless Spell Now this is a tough list, and will essentially have to play for objectives. As I am on TTS, models aren't an issue. What is the best 2000pts Blades of Khorne army I can create against this monstrosity of a list? Maybe... Reapers of Vengeance Skarbrand Wrath of Khorne (General, Mage Eater, Skullshard Mantle) Bloodthirster of Insensate Rage (Armour of Scorn) Slaughterpriest (Killing Frenzy) Slaughterpriest (Bronzed Flesh) 30 Bloodletters 10x Bloodreavers 10x Bloodreavers 5x Wrathmongers Tyrants of Blood Wrath Axe Hex Gorger Skulls Would this work ? Might just try it anyway. Was thinking of using Gore Pilgrims, but I'm then using too many points in battalions.
  14. Awesome project! Is this going to be for AOS or for WHFB?
