  1. Folks, apologies I’m sure this has been covered a number of times but am new to nurgle. I’m assuming the spoilpox scriveners buff doesn’t work on plague drones as it says ‘units of plaguebearers ‘ rather than the keyword plaguebearers?
  2. The article shared above illustrates the issue to me, there are many paragraphs illustrating how you can use the double turn to your advantage, and three bullet points on how to prepare. The problem is that preparing for the double turn also puts you at significant disadvantage for the scenario. For my own armies this is vastly improved in ghb2 and the ability to take blood Knights which can fly over a screen is huge, but of all the people I have heard say 'you just have to prepare for it' I've rarely seen anyone articulate how they would do it in any great detail. You can only castle up for so many turns until you're penned in and lose
  3. The battalions have gone up, deathlords come down a bit. Most other stuff remains the same. Crypt horrors and flayers are up 20 pts Ghoul king on foot is up 20 pts
  4. OK, rumour mongering here, what do we know of the new 40K that might make its way to AOS? Assuming that it's not all one way traffic in AOS influencing 40K? This particular tweet from Mr Foley, for example? Does it herald changes in AOS?
  5. Skaven from rumour mill were probably these bloodbowl minis https://www.warhammer-community.com/2017/04/24/blood-bowl-at-warhammer-fest-apr24/
  6. What effect would removing mortal wounds altogether have on hinterlands? I appreciate I've only played with low level warbands with not a lot of experience, but does stuff end up with the uber saves that mortal wounds were designed to prevent? if mortal wounds were replaced with wounds at rend 1, would that solve the issue? Having played shadow war last night I also think there is something to be said for the knocking down with chance to recover idea, but appreciate it adds a layer of complexity that was never in the original rule set
  7. I played my first couple of games with this last night and I really wanted to like it, maybe it's our local scene, but I got absolutely smashed off the table very quickly. Opposing player had a lord celestant; lord relictor and 3 liberators I had a vampire lord, spirit hosts and 5 skeletons. The mortal wound output of the celestant took off my characters turn one. The skeleton warriors did precisely nothing. Now, I completely get that this is a narrative game and I'm in it as much for the story as everything else, but the story of these games was just my complete lack of participation! Anyone any good ideas for death warbands that will survive beyond turn one? We have no shooting and no mortal wound output beyond arcane bolt, but I can't work out a way to get more than one wizard in without it becoming very low model count?
  8. agree, but humans, aelves, goblins, beastmen are allegiances, not a so called 'grand' alliance. The funny thing is that people think 'death' is an army akin to 'stormcast' when of course it should be akin to 'order' but it's nowhere near. And you're right, I could go and play another army, but I've invested in this one, both my time and money. I like it. I'm not even asking for models, a blades of khorne like release for Deathrattle would be absolutely perfect.
  9. Soooooooo, any rumours on any death stuff? Unless GHB2 brings allegiance abilities and artefacts for the smaller allegiances; it might be time to try 40k, and not pick the army which receives no updates. It leaves a bit of a sour taste; if we can do something like blades of khorne, a re-tooled grand alliance death book would work an absolute treat at the moment, but it appears it'll be 40k all the way now
  10. Let us know if you want in on the group chat (whatsapp) there's a fair few people that play regularly and it's a good way to arrange games
  11. I'd be happy with a death book, if nothing else is on the horizon. It does feel like playing an older game already, with very few batallions, few spells etc. However when the dark elves come back as uneasy allies of Nagash I will of course be more than happy
  12. My hope is that for something like the generals handbook, they are looking at everything as a whole rather than units in isolation. I could be way off though And yeah I hope deathlords becomes a thing again. Or in fact, just Death.
  13. I guess the idea would be that stuff which is over pointed would go down to balance it out. The bow hunters seem appropriately pointed to me, it's the scythes that are out
  14. Please be Death, please be Death, please be death
  15. I've said it elsewhere, but I'm fine with no new models for death, but a book of batallions, spells and allegiance abilities would be 80% of what is needed to make them interesting to play (with and against) again. Updated warscrolls would be great. I realise sales are driven by new models, but I want what chaos space marines got in traitors hate - rules that fit the units fluff and make them balanced. No new models required Although new models would be lovely
  16. 2018 would need to be a whole year of death to make up for that release schedule.
  17. It will be interesting to see if prayers are only for non-wizard factions. There's no reason that e.g. Vampires couldn't pray to Nagash as well as using death magic. The prayers that make your opponent re roll 6's could be incredibly irritating - especially as you can cast it on more than one unit in your army
  18. Cool, let us know when and we'll all bring our best filth
