  1. AFAIK Matt only had a hand in writing the two most recent GHBs. The others were written by the previous team. I don’t like this one’s magic, but do like the battle plans. I loved the last one - the Galletian Champion one.
  2. This is sort of wrong. It’s been explained in places, but GW had stores order as much Dominion as they wanted, but then only sent a handful of copies while still selling them online themselves. They then sent the rest several months after launch. So the 3rd party stores got really hurt by that model as they got their copies after people wanted them. It was just awful. Source - a couple people who run hobby stores.
  3. That’s their interpretation of a vague vision where a Phoenix gets consumed by a dark cloud. I think it’s actually the doom of Phoenicium by Skaven.
  4. It was Alarielle’s ritual that awoke Kragnos and possibly the silent people. Still, I don’t see them getting an army. More silent observers.
  5. IIRC the line was vague enough that it could have something to do with the new Stormcast being death themed based on the rumors of Ruination Chamber and the direction of the Dawnbringers stories.
  6. So far, it seems to be Scarlet Doom lists that going 4-1 at tourneys since this change. Making Bladegheists more killy just means they’re able to eliminate whatever they touch. The Mannfred RoR also seems popular, as it should be.
  7. Models go out fairly early so people have time to paint them from what I know.
  8. They usually announce Dawnbringer shorts in the Sunday preview at the very end. I’d imagine they begin next week, however they could break the cycle of 5 with each.
  9. Poor Grimghasts become even less relevant.
  10. I don’t think launching a brand new game is at all the same as an index. Obviously all the models that came over got different rules for a completely different game.
  11. AoS has never done an index though, right? The cost of rulebooks is absurd, but I’d be fine with it going either way this summer.
  12. The tactics update is pretty big for Big Waaagh. Idoneth have been doing really well lately - especially shark spam. I tell ya that Deepkin have one of books that’s sort of a miss for third, but these changes you mentioned seem fine.
  13. They have said quarterly. I get that complaining on every social media post isn’t it, but the frustration is understandable. Not everyone goes to GT’s - I get that. I’m someone who goes to one or two a year as a weekend of AoS is just a ton of fun. Here in the US the ticket for an event costs around $80 - $100. Then, if it’s not local, there’s the cost of the hotel. Food and drinks. You’re talking a lot of money. Then there’s all the prep that goes in to getting your army ready for the event. Say the battlescroll drops a couple days before lists are due. All of the sudden, the army you were working on may no longer be legal, much less optimized. They just need to put out actual dates for these updates. It’s not like these are affected by production or logistics. This year they delayed it because of LVO - but that wasn’t communicated ahead of time despite me knowing this back in December. Due to them stating these would be quarterly updates and prior history, people have been expecting this since Christmas.
  14. Fairly, too. They had communicate they would do quarterly battlecrolls. The last one was September. It’s really difficult for people who have dropped a lot of money to attend a tournament not even knowing what the rules will be. It’s also hard on TO’s. As always, communication is key. Had they just announced mid Feb for this one, people would be fine. It’s the not knowing.
  15. They never release on Fridays. Once it didn’t drop on Thursday, people weren’t expecting it.
  16. So middle of the pack in a year where they got a new, interesting book at the beginning of the year. A range refresh would’ve had them higher. I think that’s about right? I don’t think they’re popular or unpopular, I just think they’ve never really been given a chance in AoS.
  17. Sometimes FAQ drops same day - more common when the release had a special box come out earlier. I’d expect their FAQ same day at the latest and as part of the battlescroll drop. They appear from time to time, but they’re pretty low representation in the tournament meta. People track that. Makes sense that a range without new models and that isn’t overpowered isn’t the most popular, so one of those chicken/egg things.
  18. Actually, I’m pretty sure they had good intel on Dwarfs… just got the reveal date wrong. I’ve got reasons other than the leaked dice to expect Dwarfs will be one of the next TOW releases.
  19. Once it’s been part of a FAQ, it stays until otherwise. It’s still in the app. You’re better off in Sylvaneth FB groups or Discords than here for quick info.
  20. A lot of people are getting rumors mixed up with confirmation. GW said rules for every death faction - not models. This was always going to be a tiny release as it coincided with the release of FEC. That’s a massive release.
  21. Yes. Based on the video, we know Ushoran has other things going on.
  22. People generally retire - most people don’t work their entire lives. No reason to read anything into it. They make it pretty clear that they don’t just look at win rates in the video - sadly the articles don’t have much info but the videos do. One thing I do know they look at is army composition - they really try to find internal balance in books so more units in a book are taken. I think that’s a worthwhile endeavor. I’ve talked to some of the guys - there’s a lot more nuance than just looking at win rates. I hate to see hard work done in good faith be critiqued by people who don’t have all the information.
