Yeah I haven't put too much thought into the enclave yet, I suppose that may also depend on what I spend the last 120 on. Like if it's an ally unit that could benefit well from tides of death maybe I could run Ionrach, if not maybe the one where I treat Ebb Tide as flood tide, which when reversed by the tidecaster will give me turn 1 flood tide.

So I've got a theoretical list I wouldn't mind getting some opinions on. Not set on command traits and artefacts yet but the tidecaster will be the general to make the reavers Battleline. The soulscryer will likely be held in reserve along with the moorsar and potentially the thralls to form a bit of a hammer. Like I said advice and suggestions are more than welcome. Eidolon of Mathlaan, Aspect of the Sea Tidecaster Soulscryer 30x Thralls 10x Reavers 10x Reavers 6x Moorsar 6x Ishlaen Comes in at 1880, so I'm a bit stuck for what to spend the last 120 points on, is there's an ally unit anyone could recommend that could supplement the army well?

I dunno if this will be the case. I suggested this earlier on and someone, can't remember who 😅, pointed out that it's 540 points for an Aspect of the Sea on a Balewind. It's a really hefty investment that may not give an adequate return.

Another factor that concerns me is that the heaviest hitting unit in the book, the leviadon, is bordering on prohibitively expensive when you consider you'll also want to take the almost mandatory Aspect of the Sea. I think we're also lacking in units with decent rend and the attacks to put that to good use.

Yeah man thought of it and was like, on a big unit of eels, who have been charged so get a cover benefit with mystic shield up, are bouncing mortal wounds on 4s, could be evil.

Aye you're probably right on the last bit, it's just not filling me with confidence at this point. I desperately want it to do well considering I have every intention of starting them 😅 I have been looking at combining defensive eels with sisters of the thorn, reroll saves and bouncing mortal wounds on 6+ saves could be handy.

I'm really struggling to picture a competitive build for the Idoneth at the moment, I know every we've heard its second hand but it's straight from the book so should be accurate. Certain units I can see being good like the defensive eels and Aspect of the Sea, but beyond that I'm at a bit of a loss.

I'm thinking the Feuthan? Enclave could be a real winner here with the tide casters ability to start the game on Ebb Tide. Feuthan treat Ebb Tide as Flood Tide so having a unit of offensive Eels, or nearly anything for that matter, being able to run and charge or run and shoot on turn 1 could be good.

Aye it'll depend on a few things but I'm keen to give it a go. I also think it's usefulness depends on what other spell you take as well. I believe there's an 18" mortal wound AoE spell which would be nice to double the range of. And getting -1 to hit on a few units could be good in match ups against armies that invest heavily into units that do exploding hits on 6s.

I think it could work, you sit on an objective with the Aspect of the Sea on a balewind and no one else Is going near it, it's essentially yours for the rest of the game, throwing out -1 to hit and -1 bravery at 24" as opposed to 12" could be quite useful. You could also take the artefact available to Idoneth wizards, if forget the name, that'll give him'a 5++ vs mortal wounds. Obviously this is all theoretical anyway until we get the army on the table 😁

I'm already plotting a list with the intention of getting an Aspect of the Sea up on a Balewind Vortex to double the range of Tsunami of Terror, could be quite potent. Also I think Ishlain? Guard with Shield of Thorns from some allied Wanderers could be nice just as a tarpit unit.
