  1. I've not re-rebased my models or played a single game of TOW yet because I'm snowed under with work lazy, but Gyrocopters are a solid bet, not just for the obvious firepower, but also because dwarfs really struggle to pursue and catch things, which is kind of important if the tournament's scoring on victory points. Units of five Irondrakes with a Trollhammer Torpedo in each also give you way more bang for your buck and durability than warmachines, which makes me sad, because I have a lot of painted warmachines, and can't find any Irondrake models that fit in with my old metal army.

  2. out of work now to talk about the great minis Grombrindal: remind me again about how the other grombrindal models work do they all going into legends or are they just not get rule and are just merch because i can't really see if the primaris dwarf being in the game either way yes this model is perfect all this needed was a Dispossessed Dwarves wave to coming soon and i would have pre-order it faster than 40k scalper The different Kharadon and Fyreslayer subtle iconography mixed with the Khazalid (which once again is still distinct from the TOW dwarfs) just add to it great it is now excuse me if i take one more hopium and put this out

  3. Ghorros Warhoof is totally alive and kicking (and drinking, and...) during this time. A plastic kit that let you build him or a generic centigor chieftain would be nice.

  4. I think that we are missing the point here

  5. I use Army Painter's primer. But I imagine all the reputable brands do a similar product.

  6. I've gone back and forth on this but now I'm pretty sure you can't ignore the -1. You can't stop reading a sentence half way. If I say I ignore the rain when it's light, that doesn't mean I ignore the rain all the time. I think this will become clear when we see the declare and effect stages of shooting. We had the same thing for charges and the full rules quickly resolved the issue. I imagine the declare step will just be pick a viable target. At this point the warlock engineer can ignore the guarded hero restrictions. The effect step will be resolve shooting attacks that target the unit, which is how combat does it. The - 1 is applied here and warlock engineers can't ignore it.

  8. Fantastic! I'm going to get at least two and kit bash one into a Votann version as well!

  9. No less disingenuous than saying your 40mm model should be a melee combatant par excellence when any heavy hitter probably has at least a dozen of their heads mounted on trophy racks or bodyguards as strong as he is. Especially given how everyone else has gotten much stronger since Fantasy.

  10. Your criteria was “Not Mounted” and “Generic”. All 3 aren’t mounted and the only reason the eidolon doesn’t walk is because it can fly instead so that’s just a skill issue for everyone else.

  11. Verminlords. Mega-Gargants. Eidolons of Mathlann. All can be brought in duplicate (Minus the Akhelian, the command trait is locked to the general) and don’t have mounts, and are generally pretty good in melee.

  12. It literally does. "Ignore the effects of "guarding hero" ability when picking the target for thier shooting attacks". It literally says ignore that rule when picking targets. If you ignore the rule you get zero benifit from it. When you pick a target for their shooting attack you ignore the effects (plural) of guarding hero . There is clear case guarding hero is entirely ignored as written not just the targeting aspect.

  13. So, I have a tournament on june 2: 1500p, 3 units max repeated. Legends/armies of infamy allowed. Anyone has a good list for fun? I'm a big fan of armies of infamy, but not sure if I can paint 80-120 slayers without going insane (already tires after paiting 16 quarrellers and 12 thunderers and it's so boring).

  14. I don't have anything constructive to add, I just need to say that these Dwarf models are all amazing. They have had such a strong and incredible range for such a long time and so much of it still looks great. Even the stuff in AOS that might vanish, the Dispossessed or seems to be moving to TOW are still so great looking. Then I see something like the new models like the Kings and the new White Dwarf, and I am starting to wonder if they are just that good, or do I love Dwarfs and I haven't accepted it?

  15. do we know for sure that the galvaneer(?) leaked model is in the launch box, it's on a single sprue and not a combined sprue so I could see it not being in the box. But also indomitus necron half had 4 characters and the space marine half had 5 lol. Dominion had 4 SCE chars and 4 KB chars. I don't think it's out of the question

  17. Hello all, long time lurker. I was a fan of WFB in the 90s and had some badly painted chaos warriors and knights but no one to play with. I tried to resurrect things as an adult during 8th Ed and spent hours on eBay trying to collect an Empire army, just before it all ended. Then I had kids! Now they've grown a bit and I've decided to go for Destruction and maybe one day even play at my LFGS. Some pics of a conversion project to begin with, will take some of my Ogors with Ork heads (an old trick but a good one I feel) another time. Also working on conversions of some 2nd Ed Space Orks, making them a bit more dynamic. Grateful for any advice, suggestions or feedback.
