Spiderriders

Hi

 

I am looking to start collecting my next army and ~I really like the look of spiderfang grots

 

Now as for a core list of 2k im thinking on the below but would you ally in some other stuff or just go pure spiderriders ??

 

Leader

 

2x arachnarok with shaman

1x grot big boss on gigantic spider

 

battle line

 

3x 15 grot spider riders 

 

this leaves me with a total of 1560pts so I have 440pts to go 

 

If not I think other big boss and 15 more spider riders for 400 pts

I'd consider the Spiderfang venom mob battalion. Pretty low points cost and it gives your mini spiders battleshock immunity when kept close to the Arachnarok(s). It also gives a bonus when rolling to wound with the fangs. Your list would more or less need to be:

the battalion says - and works- for units with the keyword 'Spiderfang Goblins'. Sadly there is no unit with that keyword  anymore (they're called Spiderfang Grots), and because of this, it can't be used if you go by a strict reading of the rules (that I've read a lot of cons and tournaments do).

Ah a shame. In friendly games I'm sure you could just use the old warscroll from the orcs and goblins pdf. From what I can see the only difference from the updated scroll is the one you mention (and that was done for business copyright purposes I think).

Thanks for the update I'll have a nosey about but I think I'll stick to pure spiderriders
