Greetings from the Warp
Hi all, reflecting on Hero loadouts following a game this week v Stormcasts and places nof power mission.. I ran a VLoZD with cloak and red fury who was a beast literally.. However the Winged VL and a Vargulf were pretty naff.. So 300 points not pulling their weight!? So what would you replace them with? 1- VLoAT and a Tomb Banshee 2- 5 Cairn Wraiths The rest of the 2000 points list would then look like = 3 x 10 Skeletons, Mortis Engine, 2 Harbingers, 2 Archai, 3 Spirit Hosts, 6 Spirit Hosts.. Thanatos Ares
Generals Handbook 2 (trial points) has VLoAT at 300pts so a straight swap Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So now 300 for him makes him seem slightly less good value for money!?! That said his spell is pretty awesome and could be game changing when done right..!?! Thanatos Ares
I may have slightly mis-led you. The VLoAT is currently 220 yes, however, the TRIAL points for him for the upcoming Generals Handbook 2 are 300. deynon
the banshee is nice, but I'd suggest to point on a wight king with stendard, more useful
WillofNagash
VLoAT is for sure worth it, 3+ armor save FTW
BrocknerTheBear
I actually quite like the cursed book on a flying vampire lord to play sidekick to the zombie dragon lord. Tag him into the same combat and as he's such low priority he often goes almost unnoticed as people focus on the dragon. But it also allows the -1 hit modifier to be in other places instead of an eggs in one basket situation.
kcjling
Played a few games with vampire lord + cursed book and neferata's command ability. -2 to hit on lots of units is pretty devastating if you can stomach giving up the command trait. Pretty useful in smaller games.
mmimzie
The banshee is best kept as reinforcement points, that way you can summon it into range and get it's range attack off. Giving the model abit of damage avoidance.
