Ex Profundis - Dark Corners

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

I'm Jake (sometimes Bruticus) and I have been painting Age of Sigmar for a while now, but somehow I've never started a blog here. I've been working on a Chaos Warband that are pledged to Malal, the forgotten Chaos god that likes to pick fights with the others. This warband is full of conversions and is inspired by the illustrations of Adrian Smith, Mike Mignola and the anime Berserk - among other things.

Saw these and commented over on facebook. Excellent work, no idea how you managed to get the black looking that good. Bravo.

I am not even intimate enough with the model range to know what all the base conversions are but they all look totally unique. Can definitely see your reference points shining through.

I sometimes end up at you site looking for inspirational conversions. Great to see you on this forum. This warband is amazing, love the monochrome colour palette and the conversions are outstanding. The bases are also really nice... they make me feel like i should step up my game when it comes to basing.

Thanks everyone, I plan to be better at contributing here. Apologies if you have seen my models before, I don't want to spam you with older projects - but I'll do a few by way of introduction before getting to some new stuff.

This is a mechanical Vermin Lord: a deceased avatar of the Horned Rat rebuilt by Skaven ingenuity with a steam and warpstone powered body

For the sake of completeness, here is the last of my AoS that I've completed so far, my Stormcast Eternals of the Immortal Tribunal. These were the first AoS models I painted, they could use a few touchups. I might add to this force soon. There are more pictures on my site www.exprofundis.com if you are interested, but next up is some new stuff, and some exciting news about AoS28.

Thanks for all the comments.

I love your stuff.

You have a style and I would recommend more people find a style myself included! In fact it is probably why I keep painting even when I don't need to field more on the tabletop.

A style is much more important in this form of art as the impact a bunch of minis throws out at 3 or 4 feet's distance is never ever getting overthrown.

Even when  you are close enough to see other technical aspects to models.

I realised this when I entered my first armies on parade late last year. My stuff is nice but doesn't have STYLE.
