uncool
Hi everyone! I can't honestly remember what the inspiration was for this project, but I'm working on converting some ogors to be more like trolls from Scandinavian folklore. I've been taking a lot of ques from artists like John Bauer and Paul Bonner (google them, you should), and the Trudvang RPG from Drakar och Demoner (its like swedish D&D). I'm talking big noses, tusks and a bit more goofyness. The idea is something like an army of giant-kin, with trolls riding larger trolls fighting alongside bigger trolls and giants. Here's what I came up with. ( forgive the pictures, I'm working on a better setup) I also converted the Frostlord rider. I still want to sculpt a crown or something on him. I also, for fun, did some sculpting on a Tomte, or gnome-lin. Hope you like them.

Routasydän
Ive seen something similar before, think it was an Orc army with tons of trolls with faces like the stonehorn thingie and a fur made of grass. Anyways, brilliant conversions and a really interesting concept, look forward to seeing more of these

Mohojoe
I love this concept, always great to see people customising miniatures to there own tastes but this project has a particular space in my heart as a lover of folklore, keep up the great work! uncool
Thanks everyone! I'm having a load of fun sculpting these fun troll faces, and the gnomes just make me smile when I look at them. Speaking of gnomes, with the extra putty I had left over, I made up some more gnome...blars? Yeah, lets go with that. I also have a test scheme for the ogors that I did up a while ago, but plan on using soon. More to come soon, once I finish off the stonehorn troll head I'm working on. Holy buckets, I had not seen that before. Thats a bit further down the sculpting road than I plan to go, but I will be keeping that in mind for later. Thanks for sharing! @Rogue Explorator Yeah, they definitely do.

uncool
A bit of an update. I think I've finished the stonehorn head I've been working on. I may add a little more here and there, but its about done. This guy was fun, and I think I unlocked how to do hair and fur, which I've struggled with immensely in the past. I also started up a huskard rider. I think this guy will be a thundertusk rider, but havent decided yet. And pro tip for anyone who sculpts a lot: when you have extra green stuff, make mushrooms! Rogue Explorator
That Stonehorn head looks ridiculous in good way. I think your hair looks very four like, which suits the look you go for perfectly, as it should result in a effect of unkempt, matted and felted hair. For finer hair, I use a very soft (low on the blue element) GS mixture and carefully drawn lines. Using leftover GS for basing is something I try to do as well, though I don't do mushrooms, as they wouldn't fit my army (perfect for yours though). I either do flats and Squares to turn into tablets, waystones and minor architecture debris, or I roll it up, either into tiny balls for eyeballs and gemstones or bigger ones (they'll come in handy at some point). I've also been thinking about simple pottery and coins for GA:Death basing.

uncool
Hope everyone's holidays went well. I got a bit distracted with some 40k nurgle stuff, but also sculpting a new unit: Goat Riders! (counts-as wolf riders) These were super fun to do, and I'm pretty happy with how they came out. Hope you like them!
Ademo
This plog is amazing! This is shaping up to be an incredible army! The goat riders have to be up there with my favourites, you've managed to make them very dynamic.Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
