Overread Posted July 15, 2018 Share Posted July 15, 2018 It could go either way, however as the rules are written I would say that the Portal is simply extending the range of the spell, it is not actually casting the spell itself. The Wizard is still the source of the spell itself, so the Maelatrom would have to still be within range of the Wizard doing the actual casting in order to risk interrupting and stealing the energies from it.
