What battletomes are next for elves?

A small aelf population existed before the capture of Slaanesh, and the aelfs of Azyrheim are the remnants of those exisiting aelfs, and/or their descendants. But they were a very, very small faction of the aelves that should have existed, which is why the aelven gods went off in search of Slaanesh. Keep in mind that these aelfs are very traditional, normal high fantasy elves. So far the aelfs created by the gods they've spoken about are...weird. Morathi's are sneky, there's the uderwater ones, some sort of light-angel things, and so on.

It's contradictory because GW didn't really know what they were doing. Yes, it does say in some places that there were no aelves at all, but we know that's not true, because of the Grand Alliance Order battletome and numerous mentions of the Azyrheim aelves marching to war with other races. I think the original idea was that there were none, but they compromised so that they could give us some scrolls for the old models. So there were aelfs, but only a small number compared to the other races.

Actually the first AoS book (Mighty Battles in an Age of Unending War) explicitly said that the aelven gods found no aelves outside of Azyrheim. Those who were living there are apparently the descendants of the aelves who survived the End Times through various means (luck, magic, etc.). To add with that, the gods of light and shadow could hear in their heads the cries of the tormented aelf souls that were devoured by Slaanesh which is why they were so determined to find the Dark Prince and extract all the souls he ate.

What I mean is there were no contradiction: the first book already said that there were aelves in the Mortal Realms (Azyr specifically) before the gods created their own (although it should have been written more clearly).
