StoneMonk
Here is some WIP and finished ironguts pics. I took a gutplate and sculpted some tyranid plate ridges onto it and then cast a mold. Same with the shoulder armor. wasnt sure on the tyranid flesh handles of their bonesword great weapons, but i think it ties them in with the big monsters nicely. Double Misfire
I missed the last update with the Ironguts in. Everything looks just great, you've managed to seamlessly blend the two ranges perfectly. I can't wait to see how you paint the butcher and love the gnoblar haning off the dread maw! Need to paint him and base/cauldron, and then attach him. We will see how it goes.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
KhaosZand3r
Loving this thread. In my opinion, AOS has not tapped into the desert well enough yet. As for conversions, I'm actually using a modified Carnifex w/volcanic paint job for my Chaos Hellcannon. I was going to use an Exocrine but got the used carnifex for much cheaper. StoneMonk
Good call@KhaosZand3r i like where youre going. Thought about exocrine for skytitan canon. We will see.Check out the Endless Desert by @mengelminis for all the desert you could wantSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Ratatatata
Absolutely fantastic stuff in this thread. I'm very impressed by the conversions and painting, but even more so that you came up with and followed through on the idea. Marvelous!
StoneMonk
If you're interested in some story behind these guys, I wrote 500 words for the Endless Desert fiction contest that @Mengel Miniatures and I are judging. The winner will receive a free set of Desert Status Tokens and a selection will make their way into Endless Desert "Canon". KhaosZand3r
That was quite the narative. Well done. Until getting to the part about the second set of eyes, I hadn't even noticed that detail on the model. A parasitic hivemind is an awesome approach. We will see who is the master of who as the story continues.

Goodapollo4
This is one of the most well executed conversion projects I've seen in ages. Love the idea, love the blending of 40k and AOS, you've really made it your own. Can't wait to see more progress on this! Moar buggies!!
cb_rex
I don't so much care for the Tyranidyness but conversions are all really cleanly done and I love the way you've painted your army. In particular the use of the blue on the models and on the bases works really well, good work!
StoneMonk
THanks @Goodapollo4 - I'm really feeling the love on the project. Gotta keep reaching for it.
StoneMonk
@cb_rex I didn't love the Tyranids before, but they've definitely grown on me. Wish i could be using more of the bio weapons, but they don't quite make the jump into fantasy.
