Vonhail
Hi All, New to Sylvaneth and to AOS. I had a look around at all the AOS models and landed on Sylvaneth. I am a casual gamer so I won't be doing any tournaments to play a win at all costs army. However, I am after a bit of advice on how I should build my Revenants. List One:Allegiance: SylvanethDrycha Hamadreth (280)- General- Deepwood Spell: Verdant BlessingBranchwraith (80)- Artefact: The Silverwood Circlet - Deepwood Spell: Verdant Blessing5 x Spite-Revenants (80)5 x Spite-Revenants (80)3 x Kurnoth Hunters (220)- GreatbowsTreelord (240)Sylvaneth Wyldwood - Sylvaneth Allegiance (0)Total: 980 / 1000Allies: 0 / 200Wounds: NaN List Two: Allegiance: SylvanethBranchwych (80)- Artefact: The Silverwood Circlet - Deepwood Spell: Verdant BlessingTreelord Ancient (300)- General- Trait: Gnarled Warrior - Artefact: Ironbark Talisman - Deepwood Spell: Verdant Blessing5 x Tree-Revenants (80)5 x Tree-Revenants (80)3 x Kurnoth Hunters (220)- GreatbowsTreelord (240)Sylvaneth Wyldwood - Sylvaneth Allegiance (0)Total: 1000 / 1000Allies: 0 / 200Wounds: 54 The other question I have at this point level should I be adding in dryads? Thanks again.
Mike Burgess
Hi, I'll try and provide some advice as best as I can. Firstly you cannot take two artefacts without a battalion, so your second list is illegal. While I absolutely love Drycha, I think her effectiveness is diminished in 1,000 point games. Her area affect shooting attack scales well when there are multiple small units or characters for her to hit. As there are less of these at smaller point games it makes her slightly weaker. I think a Treelord Ancient (TLA) is a far better choice at this points level pretty much every time. The TLA has a great command ability and can take a Trait and Artefact. The other reason a TLA is a great choice is because at lower points he can actually be a reasonable combat option as well as getting a Wizard in your list. I don't like Treelords, I think point for point you are better off with a unit of Kurnoth Hunters with Sycthes. They perform a very similar role and in my opinion Hunters just do it better. In terms of kitting our your hunters, I like Scythes. The bows can be effective but I feel make you more match-up dependant. I think if you sneak in a 2nd unit of Hunter you could justify one unit of bows (see list 2) A couple of lists I like, one is better for objective holding the other has more punch: Treelord Ancient (300) - General - Trait: Gnarled Warrior - Artefact: The Oaken Armour - Deepwood Spell: Verdant BlessingBranchwych (80) - Deepwood Spell: Regrowth20 x Dryads (200)20 x Dryads (200)3 x Kurnoth Hunters (220) - Scythes Treelord Ancient (300) - General - Trait: Gnarled Warrior - Artefact: The Oaken Armour - Deepwood Spell: Verdant BlessingBranchwych (80)- Deepwood Spell: Regrowth10 x Dryads (100)5 x Tree-Revenants (80)3 x Kurnoth Hunters (220) - Scythes3 x Kurnoth Hunters (220) - Scythes/Bows (This list is pretty similar to your 2nd list)
