Oneyah
Struggling a bit with the yellow on the orruks at the moment but hope to paint them up by next weekend, managed to get the skeletons done though.

Yeah, Yellow can be a challenging color to work with. The skeletons are looking great! If I was an evil necromancer, I’d have them around as Minions any time ... BunkhouseBuster
My update: Got more done on my models. Everything painted I am calling done except for basing. I'm torn between a grey or a tan color for the basing. What would look good with the dark red and blue I've got going so far? Also, I've improved my lighting by getting another lamp and upgrading to better bulbs. Enjoy! And also, I assembled the Reaper Bones models that I had ready the other night. They are now assembled. Behold! Goremaw (to be played as a Dread-maw), Marthrangul (to be played as a Magma Dragon), a C'thulu monster of some kind, and Shub Niggurauth (just for fun ). Warchanter for scale. Would welcome some C.C. and and advice on how to improve the sword. The sword detail is a bit hard to see... but it looks pretty solid. I’d consider drilling out the barrel on the gun. I think the sword is overall prettty solid. If you’re aiming for rusty and pitted, perhaps some pittting on the flat sides of the blade? Or a groove? It seems rather ... clean and not very chunky. If the look you’re aiming for is longsword then it fits the bill.. but it doesn’t have a hilt. It’s more like a long kitchen knife. But the double edge throws that off. Mohojoe
I was avoiding a hilt as the usual ogre weapons don't have them, definitely needs something though. I may try and mock up a few different blade types and see what fits. I want it to still look barbaric but a little more high tech than the usual weapons, to match the armour slightly more. I think perhaps a Sabre style design might work better. Like the Chinese Sabre swords. Here’s a bunch of possibilities: or perhaps something unique like this Tulwar from the Indian subcontinent from http://www.swordsantiqueweapons.com/

Praecautus
Nice khorne guys. Like the contract of silver and red, stands out more than the usual red with gold. I need some help, how do I approach the scorpion tail of this guy?
Oneyah
You could go rhinox, doombull, tuskgor. Maybe attempt it lighter on the stinger. Or maybe a black with a dark reaper and fenrisian extreme edge highlight. Or possibly screamer pink or khorne red mixed with black or shaded with nuln oil twice and then highlighted with pink horror. Kramer
Finale! Progress, it only took me about 2 months to get some paint on the last daemonettes. All have some details left to go. But no glue (threw it away in the move) is holding me back. Need to glue those arms on to finish them. Also forgot that I was already working on: grudgethrower/trebuchet, look out gnobler and a mounted sorceress. All three started when I read the Ghb2017, due to list ideas? so I’ll add those to the pledge

It will help with overall stability (long term) It will be nice to see them finished! They were exemplary sculpts from the pre-computer/digital and finecast period. Duncan has his painting guide here: But it doesn’t really go into the tail .... which you can see in the GW picture here In the citadel Paint app it looks like the standard “Brown” for the scales/armored secction (which is basically what @Oneyah suggested with the add of Agrax shade after the rhinox Hide as a shade layer before the doombull). That is then done over the base of “Dirty Black” for the under armor section (Abaddon Black > Skavenblight Dinge > Stormvermin Fur).
TheOtherJosh
@Praecautus (Apparently it doesn’t let you add pictures to already existing posts .... so here is another possibility) Alternately you could hilight the tail... here’s an armor example from the original khorne Bloodbound tome: That looks like “Firey Black” from the app: Abaddon Black > Evil Sunz Scarlet > Fire Dragon Bright
Praecautus
I am liking the firey black plus I already have those paints and doing it will add to my painting arsena. I was also thinking a nuln gloss to make it shiny black. Hmm decisions decisions ? Thanks everyone who replied, really appreciate it

Good eyes, they are indeed and some of the best models gw ever produced. I thought about pinning them. But so far the first five have held up so I decided against it as I would’nt want to ruin the them. ( I have never pinned anything before and would need to get a drill etc)

FrederickD
My goal is to finish 2 of the 4 Shadespire warbands this month. I was going to start with the Sepulchral Guard, but then I remembered how much I hate to paint yellow so I decided to get it out of the way first. I just love painting these bad boyz! Still loads and loads of work to do, but I'm quite happy with the yellow armour so far.

Swooper
Tzaangors done. Was honestly not very excited about painting them, but managed to slog through somehow. More pictures and commentary here. Next up: basing the Gaunt Summoner + familiars, then priming and painting them. Doesn't look like I'll be able to do the Darkoath Chieftain as well, and I actually might decide to postpone him for a while. The new Darkoath Warqueen has made it clear there's more "Darkoath" stuff coming, and I kind of want to know more before I decide on a colour scheme. Same reason I won't be painting Mistweaver Saih or Tenebrael Shard for a while.
