Chris Tomlin
Hey @Tom, I'm going for a 160mm pie plate for mine. The Gorkanaut I've based my conversion on fits nicely on this base and it also means it has nice symmetry with the Cabbage when displaying the army. I suspect you could get away with a 130mm round as well.
Caffran101
The TGA Base recommendation spreadsheet (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ohYLSaHzf8v5FM7Luou-wNtA5YEPv9DkglbrO_n9ukk/edit#gid=1917256016) recommends 120x90 which is your "generic monster base". Agree with @Chris Tomlin that a 130 round base would look better.

This is just someone else's opinion isn't it?

Just thinking in terms of taking it to a tournament. Do most TOs follow that spreadsheet as a rough guide to base sizes?
Tom
Thanks guys. I went for the 160. Seems right that such a big model should be on a big base.
Ollie Grimwood
I went for a 160mm on the one I'm scratch building. The rules seem to be in line with the largest monsters so a big base seems justified. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Iradekhorne
I did one from 0 for a friend, and I buy a 130mm Base for him! In a few days I upload the photos at the forum
Furious
I made one from a Deff Dread, and put it on an old CD - so 120mm round. I imagine my model is smaller, but it looks perfect on 120 and haven't heard any complaints about the base size.
Dave Fraser
I put mine on a 150mm base, because that was the largest size my plasticard cutter could extend to. Gives a bit of room around the feet and I'm happy it looks about right.

Chris Tomlin
Thanks for sharing that @Dave Fraser, That being the proper model and not a conversion, my suggestion would 100% be for 160mm (If talking official base sizes, Dave's homemade 150mm looks fine). 130mm would be too small having seen Dave's photo and I'm not sure it would even fit on the 120x92mm that @Caffran101's link mentioned!
