    The Hag!

    By Eevika

The Troggoth Hag is definitely a piece I believe every Troggoth army needs. It's amazing as a model and amazing on the table. I rarely do such detailed eyes and faces but when working on a model that is the centrepiece of your army you want to spend some extra time just to make it special. This is surely the best work I have ever done on a models face and I think there is just a lot of character and emotion on the model.  My smaller Troggoths are just green and blue but for t

"FOR SIGMAR"

So after a month I have finished the get started stormcast eternal boxed set. I have had so much fun and satisfaction painting them up and can thoroughly recommend the range. My inspiration comes from listening to the hallowed Knights audio dramas and the tales of Tarsus and his mission to seek audience with Nagash! Its an awesome set and really gets me immersed into the background. This is very much just the beginning of these and I'll be adding plenty more narrative themed

Old and New

Slowly but surely the switch from square to round bases continues. One of my favourite models still in the GW range is the Shaggoth, this metal version is probably heavier than my entire Kharadron force will be when complete. The harpy is a daemonette and tyranid gargoyle conversion. As for the Kharadrons, i've been playing with colour and basing options and i've got to a point where i think i'm happy to start painting the rest of the force

Behold the Neverending Host

Deep within the Whispering Shadow Mountains lies the Cavern of Eternal Rebirth. It's secrets hide far from the prying eyes of beings great or small and, from crystalline depths, hordes pour forth through realmgates to spread chaos across the worlds.    Not only mortals threaten all they encounter. The curtain that holds back the Realm of Chaos is thin here, perhaps thinner than any other place. Daemons of types innumerable join the ranks of the five Gods they serve, spreading their joyou

Little Yellow Chaos Warriors

It's mostly been monsters and beasts for my Chaos army so far, but I'm spreading my net into Slaves to Darkness (you can blame the Start Collecting! Slaves to Darkness box - I *may* have a Start Collecting! box problem). I'm kick off with a small unit of Chaos Warriors - an old sculpt, but still iconic to me. I went with yellow to keep them unaligned (and once you discount all the patron gods, there isn't much left in the colour palette!) These guys hit the tables this w

How to write a schedule for your event

You have a date, venue, and way to track registration for players intending to play in your event. You probably have a start and end time as well. Now you want to figure out how to fit all the games into the time limit you have. Keeping in mind that you'll need a little time at the start to get everyone settled and ready for the first match (and we will publish a post on how to pair players for matches in on Tuesday), and you'll need a little time at the end for recognition of achievements and a

Spearheading a community

Hi all, So a little introduction to myself. I've been playing Warhammer since the late 90's. I've collected a variety of Fantasy armies over the years, Lizardmen, brief stint with Ogre Kingdoms, brief stint with Empire, Dogs of War, Beastmen, kind've Orcs and Goblins, High Elves and now in Age of Sigmar, Slaves to Darkness and Free Peoples. Up until Age of Sigmar though, I was predominantly just a casual player who played mostly with friends earlier on (High school), and later in my local G

Coalescence Preparation

Hey Everyone!  Today I will be following up from my Guest Post on the How to Neo Blog on TGA and will be discussing how I plan to run the event itself on the June 10th. The best way to prepare for a large event is to take time the day before to set up the gaming area.  I am currently planning to head down to the Library the evening before to set up tables as well as lay the mats and terrain.  The quicker I can get to the venue in the morning and the lighter I am able to travel the better.

The Omniscient Oracles - a Review

The List: This weekend just gone was the South Coast GT in Portsmouth in the UK and I was there with my Tzeentch Disciples (clearly the new powerhouse) so I thought I would give a quick rundown of how the army performed in the different games and what I thought of the list and the battalion. So first up I took 27 Skyfires and..... Actually I didn't do this!  Instead I based my list around the Omniscient Oracles battalion, which for those that don't know is Kairos and three more Lo

Glory to the Free Peoples

Hi all, New blog here. In my second entry I'll probably talk more about myself, but here's the main thing. I love the Free Peoples. Always enjoy the idea of us regular joes, teaming up together to fight against the alien, the monster, the enemy within! I've collected Witch Hunters in Mordheim, and both Dogs of War and Empire in previous editions of Warhammer (Amongst many other armies!). But my thoughts at the moment belong with the Free Guilds. I've also always been a bit of a gr

One NEO's Coalescence prep

Today we have a post from NEO Chuck Moore about planning to run his Coalescence event.   Hey Everyone!   Chuck from The Realm Gate Blog here.  I was invited by the NEON Team to talk to you about all the preparation I have been doing for the one-day Age of Sigmar global Coalescence event!  You can see my follow up post later this week.     Ever since I was able to confirm dates and sign up to run the event it has been a whirlwind of activity!  If you are looking to run the eve

pondering pus

I added a few more washes to the mogoth, I don't think the pictures show it off well but there is a nice purple hue to the skin.  The next decision is how i want to do all the pustules and other filth.  Currently I am thinking i will reverse the colors with the purpley flesh getting yellow and green pustules and the green underbelly getting purple/blue pustules. will have to see how that goes or if I want to keep the colors together... Maybe i'll go crazy all over it.    Picked up some

The Krell Bomb - Firestorm Fours 2017 - Game 3

Game 3 was against the Bristol Big Uns. It was the third game of the day and against a Grot/Ironjawz force. However, my game had the distinction of being the only game of AoS that I didn't enjoy in any way. A truly dismal mixture of arguments about everything (whether Fanatics count as a drop when deployed for example), slow playing, chatting to a third party during the game to further slow things down and my opponent's ignorance of the basic stats of his general (movement 4 Megaboss).

The Krell Bomb - Firestorm Fours 2017 - Game 2

Once again I engineered the draw so that I might get the chance to take on the Sylvaneth Gnarlroot player and once again this option was presented to me and I took advantage of it. Game 2 ended up being a remarkable carbon copy of Game 1. We were playing the WWW team, which had had some drop outs (I think Paddy dropped out from memory). Ben @Thanatos Ares ended up stomping 19-1 on the poor Claire (who was pretty new to the game). It was a friendly affair though, with the players having a good ch

Ironjawz wip - Megaboss on Maw Krusha

First unit completed for my Ironjawz army. Doing the big centrepiece first is, I assume, a bit backwards but I had a real burst of desire to paint it & it was just too fun not to keep going once I got the ball rolling! I basically just followed the excellent video tutorial on Warhammer TV for the krusha itself, so it's gonna look like everyone elses I'm afraid. Still the best thing I've ever painted and I'm really pumped to grind out the rest of the army now! As you can see the Ironjawz

Weekly Hobby Update : 5-10-17

Hey everyone!  Here is what I have kicking around on my hobby table this week! In preparation for The Global Coalescence event, I have been painting up all the gray terrain I have had sitting around for the past few years.  This mixed with the terrain repair/build day coming up for my local club we should have some nice looking tables for the event and for ourselves going forward. I also took my Display board and Imperium Force to be judged for the upcoming Inner Circle Event coming up t

Bloodwarriors paint/color scheme

Here is a prototype that I finished. Thanks to Kieran Robinson for the inspiration. I have never been a fan of the red and gold trimmed Armour and thought the design was a little over the top. This color scheme brings that down to earth a bit. This was also my first time using Blood for the Blood God. I think this scheme will be solely for my blood warriors. What do you guys and gals think of it?

The Best Tournament Software? Age of Sigmar and More!

Most of my gaming life I have been involved in organising events and communities in our wonderful hobby. If there was something I wanted to do in gaming it was to create the best experiences possible for everyone. I just made it happen and I know lots of people out there are the same, volunteering all over the world, organising tournament and events with some even finding their way into professional events management. If  you fall into either of these categories or are simply interested in the t

Mhornar Test Scheme

Quick post today to show my paint scheme. I've almost got it as I imagined...though I've still got my work cut out for me as far as creating the clouds goes. I envision swirling clouds, with some parts of it dark blue/green and black with veins of yellow (aethergold) coming through. I'm still working on that, I spent some time last night dyeing cotton and just couldn't get it to come out right. The other thing I was going to do was swirling reds and oranges in the 'chamber' of the guns, but
