    The Hag!

    By Eevika

The Troggoth Hag is definitely a piece I believe every Troggoth army needs. It's amazing as a model and amazing on the table. I rarely do such detailed eyes and faces but when working on a model that is the centrepiece of your army you want to spend some extra time just to make it special. This is surely the best work I have ever done on a models face and I think there is just a lot of character and emotion on the model.  My smaller Troggoths are just green and blue but for t

A Warcry AI (First Draft)

A few days ago, famed AoS Youtuber 2+ Tough had a livestream in which he built an AI for Warcry, based primarily using the AI from the Solo Warhammer: Troggoth Slayers article. Having dabbled with the idea of an AI for AoS before myself (because I love the game, but I have been a lonely player for forever), I thought this might be a fun exercise to go through as well. I will be starting from scratch, so our end results should look totally different. Rule Zero All actions that the playe

First step on the Stormcast road

So I've completed my first unit of Sequitors with Stormsmite mauls and a couple of great maces to lay the smackdown on the bigger gribblies out there.  I've got no real backstory for these guys except that they're Astral Templars, so probably hunting something. As members of the Sacrosanct chamber that might take the form of a troublesome endless spell, or maybe even an escaped Stormcast soul from Azyr! Who knows, I need to do some reading up on these guys at some point so maybe I'll get so

Heart of Darkness - A Solo Battle Report - Part 2

The mountain path narrowed as cliffs rose on either side. The Mortifex hunting party halted briefly to assess the road ahead. Krellion Mortifex noticed strange, undefined shapes beginning to emerge from the rock face on the right. They were the colour of the rock themselves, and though incorporeal, he realised they were taking o the texture of the cliff face. Dankrock spirits. Krellion made to signal the advance when something else caught his eye on the left cliff. Emerging from a previousl

Some new recruits

I’ve been reading through the GH 2019 on the narrative campaign theme. A broader plan is forming. The Streets of Death sound amazingly good. I need more terrain. I have lots of 40K buildings and unbuilt boxes. Wondering if anyone has any ideas or seen conversions of this material to AoS. As I’m not playing 40k for the foreseeable future, I might be able to convert some of these buildings. some objectives will be needed as well. Made one and added a battlemage, a madcap shaman and an unmounted. L

Mortal Realms magazine 1st delivery

So the first delivery of the Mortal realms magazine has come. I'm splitting this with a friend and will be painting the Stormcast half whilst he has the Nighthaunt.    Between us we actually got two copies of the first 3 issues so that gives me 6 Sequitors, 6 castigators and 2 Gryphounds to paint. The aim is to try and stay on top of the deliveries by painting what comes before the next one arrives. At my usual pace of painting that's going to be hard.    In

Heart of Darkness - A Solo Battle Report - Part 1

The Soulmason glared down from his throne at Krellion Mortifex with baleful, glowing eyes.  "A Morghast Archai by the name of K'urst has stolen from our order." The Liege-Kavalos tilted his head slightly, his curiosity piqued. "Several dozen vials that were being prepared for the black phylacteries were taken from Emmissarian chambers some span ago, and we have been able to locate his wearabouts," continued the mason. "What K'urst intends with these vials is not clear. It is possi

First Battle for the Relocation Orb

A force of 2000 each of Matorean Disciples  and Shivertooths Headbangers  are taking a chance to bash each other up. I have very little terrain, all of it homemade and I need. A lot more.  first round, Matoreans don’t like to run, but the guns were doing some damage. Tank with commander managed I kill with the repeater handgun, 2 with the steam cannon and 7 with a 3rack hellblaster. 4 more ran after but there are a lot of them. The other hellblaster doubled and wounded itself. Other tank misse

Halfling Calvary!! 🐎

Welcome back to Halfling Cities of Sigmar!    This time there’s some hobbit Calvary to display!  First off, here’s a freshly completed Freeguild General (on a pony). And though rules wise he doesn’t have a mount, he definitely looks way cooler with one.    Then there’s some Demighryph knights WIP. I got all the base colors and washes on them, so all that’s left is layers of highlights! Expect to see completed rooster knights in the future.  Let me know what you all think of

Matorean Disciples of Sigmar

Finally finished a project that had its roots in 2005 white dwarf 302. A devoted army. That became the calling card for my warhammer experience. When AoS came about, I could put all the units into an army. As it progressed, I converted all my units plus added some.  Today, this group can be a legitimate Order army (with altar and warrior priest) or a Grey Water Fastness army with some modifications. What other game can allow this to happen? This is the reason I became a fan and will suppo

All the mages...

I got sick of batch painting and decided to paint up all the mages I had found through eBay or miniswap. Magical spell effects are one of the most fun things to paint! And if you saw the first post (with all the Island of Blood models) and wondered where the archmage was, here's your answer...

More Cavalry

Had a good time painting up a set of Dragon Princes and Silver Helms. Because these were scavenged from eBay, you'll notice that the Silver Helms carry a hodgepodge of all types of different shields, including a couple with Dark Elf shapes! I actually don't mind this and like the visual variety.

First post!

I've been in the hobby for just under two years now, so I have absolutely zero nostalgia for the old world. My first introduction to the classic High Elf range was actually when most of the range got squatted last July / August when the Cities of Sigmar book was announced. Reading through all the outrage, I realized I really liked the look of the range. That was the start of this journey to hunt down as many OOP High Elf kits and models as I could on eBay, FLGSes and other places... Some of

Hobby room finished for now

I had planned for an 8’ table to complete the scene but I’ll hold off till I get the feel for this layout. Some shelves for armies and terrain and a cabinet for my much reduced book collection.  Very economical shelves - painted aspenite and cut up old cabinet doors for braces. Cost me in total $22 and my time.  Now to unpack, build/paint models and delve into some much needed terrain.

The Growing Workshop

The table is in. Very high just as I want it. The old GW tables were a lot lower and my back was nearly broken after each game. As a new rule that just came to me, only finished models are worthy of being on the table. A self imposed rule to finish my units.  Next on the agenda is an ikea wardrobe thingy that will be for books. After that, wall mounted shelving, 8’ x 16”, 5 rows to hold terrain and unused army’s. The final piece will be an 8’ table. Definitely no urgency on that.   Also of c

Krasbog’s Antagonistic Looney’s

The army so far. True AoS miniatures are the 40 scuttlings (acting as shootas), 10 spider riders, (I lost 10 others and 2 Scuttlebosses in my move + my gryphound!) 5 Boingrots, Loonboss on a Giant Squig. I just hauled over the 19 squig herd (lost 1guy as well), 10 squig hoppers, 3 rockgut trolls and the puny Giant From my old night goblin army.  40 more shootas and 40 stabbas still need to cross the isle. The Looncurse box still has to offer up a squig herd and 5 more bounders.  The night go

Lord Aquilor and 5 more Liberators

Here is the General of this group.  since the vanguard hunters are battleline with him, he’s it. Never mind the fact that I don’t own any hunters...,yet.  Most assuredly, this army will look good as a group and seen 4 ft away. What I imagined and what the reality is, is very different.  Also, the last of the leaders   the Lord Exorcist is next on the line

Halfling Rangers! 🏹

Welcome back to Halfling Cities of Sigmar blog! This time it’s a little update on a unit I painted a while back, but never shared. They were used as Freeguild archers previously, but now with that unit gone, these will be used as Shadow Warriors.  Currently I’m working on Halfling demigryph knights and a Freeguild general, so expect that in neat future!    That’s it for now!  Hope you like what I’ve got!  Until next time.

Pictures of Status Quo

Hi all, it´s been a long time since the last update so I tought I may share some pictures of my baddies. Currently only the husskard is really concidered to be finished as I´ve put some time and effort into him to make him ready for our great painting competition here at TGA. The Stonehorn Riders (Tentacles-Mount) needs some touch ups all over, the Frostlord still lacks the reins and I struggle to come up with how to improve the Thundertusk. Nevertheless, I already love the models. I hope you

Tales #2: Life and Death

“Ghyran, Realm of Life, home to the children of Alarielle, cries out in pain. Our once great glades wither under the march of the dead, a blight spreading outwards from the Ancient One’s host with each new moon. At the same time, life abundant seethes in the wake of the Foetid Fellows, the Bilespreader come again to his favourite playground. Our rangers rush to intercept both forces, prayers to the Goddess spilling from their lips even as they fall to the blades of their foes. Still they fight,
